Discover the 1887 Eldridge Street Synagogue, a breath-taking National Historic Landmark located on New York City's Lower East Side. HOW TO REACH
Public Transportation:
SUBWAY
1. F to East Broadway
Exit at Rutgers Street and Canal. Walk four blocks west on Canal. Turn left on Eldridge Street. The Museum will be on your left. (5 minute walk from subway).
2. B or D to Grand Street
Walk one block east on Grand Street to Eldridge Street. Turn right onto Eldridge and walk south 2 1/2 blocks. The Museum will be on your left. (5 min walk from subway). Note: the B train does not
run on weekends and holidays.
3. 6, N, Q, W, R, J or Z to Canal Street
Walk east on the north side of Canal Street. Continue walking east past the entrance to the Manhattan Bridge. Turn right on Eldridge Street. The Museum will be on your left. (10 min walk from subway).
BUS
1. M15 to Grand and Allen Streets
Walk two blocks south on Allen Street and turn right on Canal Street. Walk one block west on Canal Street and take a left on Eldridge Street. The Museum will be on your left. (2 minute walk from bus stop).
2. M15 Select to Hester and Allen Streets
Walk south on Allen Street and turn right on Canal Street. Walk one block west on Canal Street and take a left on Eldridge Street. The Museum will be on your left. (2 minute walk from bus stop).
Subway and bus service can sometimes change. You may want to check the MTA’s site for service updates before heading to the Museum at Eldridge Street.
DRIVING
1. From the Brooklyn Bridge
(Note that buses are not allowed on the Brooklyn Bridge)
From the bridge take the Centre Street North exit ;
Turn right on Centre Street and proceed north to Grand Street;
Turn right on Grand Street;
Turn right on Allen Street;
Turn right on Division Street and make the first right onto Eldridge Street;
The museum will be on your right.
2. From the Manhattan Bridge
Make a right off the bridge onto Canal Street;
Turn right on Allen Street;
Turn right on Division Street and make the first right onto Eldridge Street;
The museum will be on your right.
3. From the Williamsburg Bridge
Exit the bridge on Delancy Street and proceed west to Allen Street;
Turn left on Allen Street;
Turn right on Division Street and make the first right onto Eldridge Street;
The museum will be on your right.
4. From the George Washington Bridge
and FDR Drive South
From the bridge merge onto Harlem River; Drive which turns into FDR Drive South;
Take the Grand Street exit and proceed west on Grand to Allen Street;
Turn left on Allen Street;
Turn right on Division Street and make the first right onto Eldridge Street;
The museum will be on your right.
5. From the Lincoln Tunnel
and West Side Highway
Exit the highway at 34th Street, 23rd Street, or 14th Street;
Drive east across town to 2nd Avenue and turn right;
Proceed south on 2nd Avenue to Houston Street and turn left;
Drive three blocks east and turn right on Allen Street;
Turn right on Division Street and make the first right onto Eldridge Street;
The museum will be on your right.
6. From the Holland Tunnel
Exit the tunnel and proceed east on Canal Street;
Turn left onto Center Street go two blocks and turn right onto Grand Street;
Continue east on Grand Street and turn right onto Allen Street;
Turn right on Division Street and make the first right onto Eldridge Street;
The museum will be on your right.

Mondays: Pay What You Wish
Admission includes a synagogue tour and entry to “The Jewish Ghetto in Postcards: From Eastern Europe to the Lower East Side,” on view at the Museum through March 8.
Reservations are required for groups of eight or more people, and Pay What You Wish Mondays are not applicable for group tours.
The Museum at Eldridge Street is a 2017 IDNYC cultural partner. 2017 IDNYC cardholders receive free admission.
