HOW TO REACH
1. By Train:
- This is considered the most convenient way to reach the center of Bolzano, as the train station is only a 2-minute walk from Walther Square.
- Trenitalia offers direct daily Frecciargento connections from Rome, Florence, Bologna, Verona, Trento and Rovereto.
- Italo also offers some daily connections from Rome to Bolzano, passing through Florence, Verona, Rovereto and Trento.
2. By Bus:
- Alto Adige Bus offers transfers to/from airports like Munich, Verona, Bergamo, Milan Malpensa and Linate.
- FlixBus offers connections from many Italian and international cities. The bus stop is in Via Buozzi, Bolzano South.
3. By Plane:
- Bolzano has its own small airport, about 15 minutes from the city center.
- Larger nearby airports include Verona, Innsbruck, Bergamo, Milan, Venice, Bologna, Treviso, Salzburg and Munich. Shuttle connections are available from these airports to train stations.
4. By Car:
- From the south: Take the Bolzano Sud motorway exit.
- From the north: Take the Bolzano Nord motorway exit.
- From the west: Use state roads 42 and 38.
5. From specific cities:
- From Milan: Train takes about 3-4 hours. FlixBus also runs several times daily, taking about 4 hours.
- From Venice: Drive takes about 2.5-3 hours. Trains available with a transfer in Verona, taking 2.40-4 hours.
The most recommended and convenient option seems to be traveling by train, especially if coming from other major Italian cities.
