Museo Arqueológico Nacional

The Museo Arqueológico Nacional is the ideal place to learn about and enjoy Spain’s outstanding archaeological collections. Located in the capital of Spain, the Museum houses a broad and representative sampleof archaeological and artistic materials that reflect the diversity of the peoples and cultures that shaped the history of Spain from prehistoric times to the 19th century

Also on exhibition are important artefacts from two great Mediterranean civilisations, Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. Finally, a thematic exhibition on currency and coins gives visitors the opportunity to see part of the Museum’s outstanding numismatic collection. After the recent renovation of the building, the Museum has updated its permanent exhibition in order to create a space that aids awareness and understanding of the historical past.
