Designed by the Russian architect Mikhail Eisenstein and constructed in 1903, this building is one of the first examples of Art Nouveau in the Latvian capital. From 1997, it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as a part of the Historic Centre of Riga. The building underwent a renovation and restoration works in 2000.
