If you are a museum enthusiast like us, you’ll be pleased to know that the countdown for #MuseumWeek has started! In less than 3 weeks, the world’s biggest social media event devoted to museums and culture will be launched. Last year more than 6000 cultural institutions across 120 countries took part in the initiative, and 2021 is even more promising!

Thousands of museums, galleries, science centers and cultural institutions worldwide are invited to celebrate culture over 7 days, 7 themes, 7 hashtags between June 7th – 13th, 2021. This is a fantastic opportunity for institutions to organize special events online and/or offline to engage their visitors in fun and educational cultural experiences and online activities. So be ready to prepare your content!

The theme for this year’s eight edition will be: devoted to  creativity:, for seven days, cultural institutions and audiences are invited to be creative with their smartphones for this eighth edition! In order to participate in the event, all cultural institutions are encouraged to share publications around the 7 hashtags throughout the week. The topics of this year’s Museum Week are the following:

 #OnceUponATimeMW (Monday, June 7th),
 #BehindTheScenesMW (Tuesday, June 8th),
 #ChildrensEyesMW (Wednesday, June 9th),
 #EurekaMW (Thursday, June 10th),
 #CaptionThisMW (Friday, June 11th),

Aligned with this year’s theme, CloudGuide (a digital partner of #MuseumWeek2021) will be collaborating with cultural institutions all over the world to help them create content through interviews on creativity and its meaning to them. We are looking forward to participating in this creative movement with CloudGuide’s social media accounts, where we’ll share a lot of stories about culture, art, innovation and so much more.

You can get all the guidelines and information on the program here.
