English Heritage - Hylton Castle

This distinctive and highly decorative gatehouse-tower of a castle was built by the wealthy Sir William Hylton shortly before 1400.


An exciting HLF funded project is due to complete, and the castle itself is due to open, in late Spring 2019. Acess to grounds only during project works. Any reasonable time during daylight hours.

Parking:  Car parking is available at the site.   

Access: There are pathways around the grounds with reasonably good disabled access.
