The Beatles Story

The award-winning 'The Beatles Story' is the world's largest permanent exhibition purely devoted to the lives and times of The Beatles. Located in the Fab Four's hometown of Liverpool on the stunning UNESCO World heritage site at the Royal Albert Dock, The Beatles Story takes visitors on an atmospheric journey through the lives, times, culture and music of The Beatles.


OPENING TIMES

It is recommended that you check the opening times before you visit as these are subject to change.

Please note that The Beatles Story is closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day (December 25 and 26).

Please note that last admission is one hour before closing times, check the attraction website for details.


ACCESSIBILITY

If you are planning a trip to the exhibition and you have a physical disability or somebody attending with you has a physical disability do not worry. It is endeavoured to ensure access into The Beatles Story is uncomplicated and pleasing for all visitors regardless of any disabilities and we are committed to continually improving access to the attraction.

The aim is to ensure that the service is appropriate to the needs of all visitors and to offer the visitors an enlightening and atmospheric experience. To achieve this mission The Beatles Story has an on-going access plan that is regularly updated. Ongoing training is provided for the team members as well as having the following measures in place:

Parking – Albert Dock has a number of car parks on site and has in total eight accessible car parking bays, with three available in car park A, near to the estate’s main entrance and five in car park B opposite The Beatles Story and Premier Inn hotel.

Wheelchairs – The exhibition is wheelchair accessible. Due to fire evacuation procedures, only three wheelchairs can be admitted on site at any one time. A standard wheelchair is available which can either be booked in advance or provided on the day by asking a member of staff at the main entrance and is subject to availability.

Lifts – There is one accessible lift situated at the main entrance (accompanied with audio announcements). Please ask a member of staff on arrival to assist with lift access. Please note that the lift has size restrictions for certain wheelchairs. A maximum load of two people or of 400kg can be taken at any one time and load size must be less than 1250mm deep and 825mm wide on the platform. Please call the guest services team in advance of your visit on 0151 705 6604 for further advice on these restrictions.

Toilets – Wheelchair-accessible toilets are available within the exhibition and also in the Fab4 Cafe area. Please see a member of staff for assistance.

Induction Loops – Induction loops are available to use with our audio guides. Please see a member of staff when picking up your audio guide.

Large Print Gallery Books – Large print transcripts are available in all 11 languages offered on the audio guide, which are available at the Admissions desk. Please ask a member of staff for more details.

Guide Dogs – Guide dogs are welcome.

Sign Language – Should you require sign language assistance, please contact The Beatles Story and staff availability will be checked to ensure that help is on hand during your day of visit.

Fab4 Cafe – The Fab4 Cafe is located on basement level and is accessible via the exhibition. The Fab4 Cafe is partially self-served – however, assistance is available if required. To book a table in the Fab4 Cafe, please call the Cafe Manager on +44 (0) 151 709 1963 (ext. 233) in advance of your visit. 

Unfortunately The Beatles Story is unable to accomodate any guests in wheelchairs on 17th June 2019,  apologies for any inconvenience. Please plan your visit accordingly.

HOW TO REACH

BY TAXI

ON FOOT
The Albert Dock is a 20-minute walk from Lime Street, Liverpool’s mainline train station, through Liverpool ONE shopping centre on the river Mersey waterfront. You can also reach The Beatles Story on foot from either the Museum of Liverpool and Cruise Liner terminal or the Echo Arena Liverpool. All pedestrian routes are well signposted. BY BUS
The 800, 500 and 25 bus services stop at the Albert Dock. The Liverpool ONE bus station is only a 7 minute walk from the location too, where services in and out of the city centre start and finish. Find out more and plan your route on the website.

BY CAR
Use the Sat Nav postcode - L3 4AD. From the South: Follow the M6 north to junction 21A, turning left onto the M62 in the direction of Liverpool. At the end of the M62 follow signs for the city centre and waterfront.
You’ll find parking on site at the Dock, plus supplementary car parks at both Liverpool ONE and ACC Liverpool.

BY RAIL
Liverpool Lime Street is the city's mainline station with routes from London, Manchester, Scotland and the Midlands. The station is just 20 minutes walk from The Beatles Story or you can transfer with Merseyrail from Lime Street to James Street Station, just a 5 minute walk from the Albert Dock. Trainline offer great rates on trains to Liverpool and railcards are available to save money on travel. Virgin Trains offer great rates and operate a super fast service from London to Liverpool. London Northwestern Railway offers direct services from London, Birmingham and Stafford to Liverpool Lime Street, with advance fares available from just £9.00.

BY AIR
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is one of the fastest growing regional airports in the UK, with a variety of European and transatlantic routes. The airport is a 20 minute taxi ride away from the Albert Dock. Find out more on the website.
