HOW TO REACH

You can get to Sicily in several ways:

By plane: Sicily has major airports in Palermo, Catania, Trapani, and Comiso, receiving direct flights from many European cities and other parts of Italy.

By ferry: Ferries connect Sicily with mainland Italy (departing from ports such as Naples, Genoa, Livorno, and Civitavecchia), as well as Malta and Tunisia. You can also take your car across on most ferry routes.

By train: Trains from mainland Italy travel to Villa San Giovanni (Calabria), where trains board a ferry and continue directly to Messina in Sicily.

By car: You can drive to southern Italy and take a ferry with your vehicle to Messina or other Sicilian ports.

By bus: Long-distance buses from major Italian cities also travel to Sicily, connecting with ferries for the final leg of the journey.

Flights are usually the quickest option; ferries and trains offer scenic alternatives if you prefer a slower journey.
