Centre for experimentation, creation and diffusion of emerging art

WTA is centre for creation and exhibition of emerging art that aims to give back the art to the artists and their public, without delegate to intermediaries, the selections and promotions by economic interests. WTA suports artistic proposals that stand out for their professionalism, authenticity, courage and ability to innovate.

Besides being the study and workshop of visual artist Werner Thöni, the centre consists every year of a:

Artist-in-residence program

WTA offers to four national or foreign artists a free workplace and accommodation to perform an art project during three months.

WTA Emerging Art Award

WTA celebrates an art competition for artists out of commercial circuits or art students that live in Cataluña or Balearic Islands.

WTA Gallery

WTA Gallery is a showroom that welcomes about seven or eight emerging art shows every year. The exhibited artists are basically WTA’s resident artists, WTA Award winner and two or three in WTA Gallery Call selected artists. The works are not for sale.

WTA is supported by Werner Thöni Artspace Association aWTA, a nonprofit organization which target is to promote innovation of the culture and the contemporary art in all of its aspects, especially in visual arts areas.
