National Football Museum

Experience the world’s greatest sport at the National Football Museum. The National Football Museum explains how and why football has become ‘the people’s game’, a key part of England’s heritage and way of life. It also aims to explain why England is the home of football, the birthplace of the world’s most popular sport.

HOW TO REACH

By car
Manchester is ringed by the M60, linking to the UK’s extensive motorway network. Brown signs indicating National Football Museum or Urbis will direct you to the city centre.
The National Football Museum are proud to partner with Q-Park Car Parks. Q-Park Deansgate North is just a few minutes’ walk from the Museum, with 450 underground spaces available; details can be found here. The nearest drop-off point for visitors is the coach drop-off on Todd Street. Please note that Todd Street is one way only (in the direction of Corporation Street). Any unauthorised vehicles driving down Todd Street way from Corporation Street will receive a penalty notice.


By train
The museum is right next to Victoria Station. If leaving Victoria Station from the main entrance, cross over the road and you’ll see the large glass building directly in front of you. Head up into Cathedral Gardens and you’ll see the main entrance on your left.

If arriving at Piccadilly station, take the Metrolink to Victoria. The free Metroshuttle bus service stops outside the museum. Catch the no 2 from Oxford Road or Deansgate stations. From Piccadilly catch the no 1 service and change to the no 2 on Deansgate.


By Metrolink
The nearest Metrolink tram stops are Victoria Station and Exchange Square (from Shaw & Crompton). From Bury, catch the Piccadilly or Altrincham service. From any other line, all trams to Bury stop at Victoria. If a Bury service is not available, catch any tram to the city centre and change at Piccadilly, Piccadilly Gardens, or get on at Market Street.

You can also get the tram from Manchester Airport directly to Victoria.


By bus
There is a bus stop (code NP) right outside the museum on Corporation St served by many different routes. The free city centre Metroshuttle service number 2 stops at the museum and links directly to Deansgate and Oxford Rd train stations as well as other Metroshuttle services. By coach
There is a coach drop-off point on Todd Street next to Victoria Station, which is clearly signposted. Note that Todd Street is one way only and unauthorised vehicles travelling from Corporation Street will receive a penalty notice.


From the airport
There is a regular train service from Manchester Airport to Manchester Piccadilly, from where the museum is approximately a 15 minute walk. Alternatively, you can catch the tram straight to Victoria.

ADMISSION

Admission will grant visitors entrance to the museum, unlimited photographs with the Premier League and FA Cup trophies, admission onto the range of guided tours and unlimited use of six of the seven interactive games (with the exception of Penalty Shootout, which will cost £2 per three penalty kicks).
