Rüstem Pasha Mosque

The Rüstem Pasha Mosque is a 16th century building designed by Ottoman imperial architect Mimar Sinan for the grand vizier Rüstem Pasha.

The main dome of the building rests on four semi-domes and its arches spring from four octagonal pillars. To the north and south are galleries supported by pillars alternated with small marble columns. The complex, famous for its large quantities of İznik tiles, was damaged in the Great Fire of 1660. Restored several times since its opening, the most recent refurbishment works took place in 2017.
