At home in the 7th district, the creative heart of Vienna, WestLicht has become an established fixture of the Austrian cultural landscape. WestLicht is home to an exhibition space for photography, a cameramuseum and a café.
Since it's founding in 2001, the museum under its director Peter Coeln has shown about 100 exhibitions – including great names like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Elliott Erwitt, Franz Hubmann, Sebastiao Salgado, Ansel Adams, Herbert List and Alexander Rodchenko, but also thematic shows like the international POLAROID Collection, 80 YEARS CHE GUEVARA or JOCHEN RINDT. THE FIRST FORMULA 1 POP STAR. An annual highlight is the show WORLD PRESS PHOTO – the world’s leading exhibition on the subject of photojournalism.

WestLicht. Schauplatz für Fotografie is accesible by public transport either via metro line U6 to Burggasse/Stadthalle or U3 to Zieglergasse as well as the tram lines 5 (Westbahnstraße), 49 (Kaiserstraße), 6, 9 and 18 (Urban-Loritz-Platz).
