HOW TO REACH
You can get to Santorini either by plane or by ferry, depending on your location and travel preferences.
By Plane:
Santorini (Thira) National Airport (JTR) receives direct flights from many European cities, especially during the peak season (May to October). If you’re coming from outside Europe or during the off-season, fly to Athens first, then take a domestic flight to Santorini. The flight from Athens to Santorini takes about 40–45 minutes.
By Ferry:
Ferries to Santorini depart daily from Athens (Piraeus or Rafina ports). High-speed ferries take about 5–6 hours, while conventional ferries take 7–8 hours. Ferries are also available from other Greek islands like Mykonos, Crete, Paros, and Naxos. All ferries arrive at Athinios Port, from where you can reach Fira or other villages by bus, taxi, or transfer.
From Overseas:
If you’re traveling from outside Europe (such as Australia or the US), fly to a major European hub or Athens, then connect to Santorini by plane or ferry.
Once on the island, taxis, buses, and transfers are available to take you to your accommodation or the main towns.
