Seinäjoki City Hall

The City Hall of Seinäjok is part of the so-called "Aalto Center", an administrative and cultural center of the city made up of six buildings (Lakeuden Risti Church, Town Hall, Municipal-Provincial Library, Parish Center, Office Building of the City and State, City Theater), all of them designed by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto.


For the construction of the city hall, completed in 1962, was used brick as well as a combination of traditional and modern materials. The west wing, originally intended for residential use, was altered in the years 1970-80 for serve as work spaces. At present, the city hall building is under renovation. It is expected to be completed at the end of 2018.
