Bamberg House was planned on the first decade of the 20th century by Slovenian Italian architect Max Fabiani on commission from Otomar Bamberg, owner of a local printing company and of a bookshop. In comparison with nearby Krisper House, in this case, Fabiani deviated from the Vienna Secession architecture.
In that way, the exterior of the building was designed in a modernist style inspired by the local tradition of late-Baroque patrician palaces, which is also reflected in the use of new materials and techniques as well as its façade dominated by monumental vertical stripes of grey concrete rendering.
